This stunning 1950s vintage handbag from Marcus Brothers is made of vinyl wicker over an oval hard shell. It has been sensitively repurposed in colour to a matt apple green which is a beautiful contrast to the lucite and gold.
It closes securely with a lucite and golden twist lock on the top and the base is protected by 4 brass studs. The lucite handles are decorated by a golden beaded thread and attach to the body with golden crow's-feet on lucite.
The inside is lined with a hardwearing white vinyl and has 1 large open pocket and 1 zipped pocket. There are some blue ink marks on the inside but they don’t detract from functionality at all.
The beautifully arched handles are rigid and sturdy. As practical as it is spectacular and secure.
Excellent condition. Please note this is a vintage item and has been loved, it may show small signs of wear from being over 60 years old.
