Lovely eye-catching vintage bag designed under the Marchioness label for famed department store R. H. Macy. It’s covered in white vinyl woven wicker and closes with a nicely contrasting golden metal buckle and clasp on the top. The front face is adorned by a beautiful floral tapestry of 3 flowers in shades of pink, purple, red, green and yellow set against a beige mesh background. The handles are sturdy and wrapped in the same white wicker and attach to the top with four golden thimbled hinges.
The inside has plenty of room and is lined with a strong-wearing white vinyl (easily washable!) and has 2 full-length inner pockets lined in striking red, one of which closes with a zip. It can stand alone thanks two the four golden metal protector studs inset on 2 white faux-leather hinge patches on the base.
Bag is in immaculate condition - I can’t find anything to suggest it has been used previously.
Trivia: the "Marchioness" label was trademarked by R.H. Macy all the way back in 1917!!
